This is the official
website of STOPKIG.org, the umbrella
organization formed by the community for
the community to fight K.I.G.
KIG is a proposal to obliterate a
massive area of green space in mid Kent
with a four million square feet
industrial estate. |

We attended the Pre
Inquiry meeting on the 12th June, and
the notes from it will shortly be put on
our news page.
The dates for the inquiry have now been
confirmed. It will commence on 13th
October at 10.am and run for
approximately 8 weeks. It will run
Tuesday to Friday each week, normally
10am to 5pm, but will occasionally start
at 9.30, with an early finish on a
Friday.
During the Half Term week, the Inquiry
will only sit on 29th and 30th.
An evening session will be arranged for
those members of the public who wish to
speak but are unable to attend during
the day.
The venue is still to be confirmed.
We would encourage as many people as
possible to turn up on the first day of
the Inquiry, and if possible on
subsequent days. We will endeavour to
put information from the Inquiry on our
website for those unable to attend in
person.
We are keeping a list of those who can
attend, in order to ascertain the
numbers involved, so we would appreciate
an email with dates and whether you can
attend the morning session, afternoon
session or all day. If sufficient
numbers of people wish to attend, it is
possible that special transport
facilities will be arranged if the venue
is not well served by public transport.
If you wish to speak, you will need to
register with the Programme Officer
before the Inquiry commences. Once the
Programme Officer has been appointed, we
will advise you of the procedure to
follow. Please let us know if you
plan to speak, as we have been asked
by the Planning Inspector to give
guidance to speakers in order to avoid
duplication of information.
The Planning Inspector will be visiting
the site before and during the Inquiry,
so please ensure you have a fresh
poster on display to show your
objection to the KIG proposal.
You can download one to print at home,
or collect one from our stand at the
fete in Bearsted on 27th June, or from
Taylors Newsagent at Bearsted Green.
Now is the time to stand up and be
counted! |
